Spring Equinox symbology and meaning
By Robin DuMolin 22 Mar, 2020
Long before there was a Christian religion or an Easter festival man greeted spring with joyful celebrations, says historian Edna Barth. During the Winter the days grew short when the sun stayed in the sky for a more brief period of time. People worried whether the sun might slip behind a hilltop and never rise again. At the time of the Spring Equinox, when the days began to be more extended and the sun shone a little longer, the people were relieved. They had hope. Life would renew itself again and crops. animals and man would thrive. Life would be rejuvenated and would be prolonged.

At the Academy for Psychic Studies church services we focus on the energy level, or symbolic meaning that the Bible is conveying. This past church service the theme was "We are our neighbor" Here is a portion from the letter of James that deals with that subject, and its underlying message. James 2:8-9 Theme – We Are Our Neighbor "If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors." James refers to the royal law. The royal law is the law of Christ. The reference goes back to John 13:34. Jesus tells His disciples, “ A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one to another.” It is ironic it is called the royal law, in that Jesus had no love of titles, especially that one. Being known as, the Son of God was fine for Him. Why does James mention to not be a, “respecter of persons” and that it is sinful to do that? Again, he did not believe in titles in that, they do not make one person better than another. It is sinful to do that because you will be misperceiving when it comes to that person. When you misperceive you are not seeing clearly. That is one of the ways that we get ourselves in trouble. It is like having only partial information about anything and then making an important decision based on that information. How we are educated is so categorized and fragmented. It contributes to us seeing differences and separation between our neighbor and ourselves. We study women’s history, black history, European history; the list goes on and on. We then identify ourselves based on our race, based on our gender, and based on our sexual identity. We see ourselves as fragmented into these various categories, no wonder we have difficulty seeing unity. We have one identity that is so often over looked. We are all spirit with a small s. It does not matter our religious background or any other identiy that we have been seeing ourselves. We are all a reflection of the Supreme Being. The spiritual meaning of son or daughter means a refection of the Supreme Being. So, keeping that connection in mind, we are also all reflections of each other. There can be no prejudice here. We are ALL children of the Supreme Being, not just some of us. Here is a humbling thought. Only 10% of our cells are human in content. The other 90% are composed of bacteria, viruses, fungi and worms that live on us and in us, commonly known as our micro biome. This is true for all bodies. Spiritually aware people know the truth that we are our neighbor, so we are all part of the One not the Two. A Chinese sage over fourteen hundred years ago knew this truth. His reply to seekers of truth who approached him was, “ Not two!” He knew that there was no division among us. It is only through fear, distrust and being out of alignment spiritually that we misidentify and see two where there is only One. I will leave you with a quote from G. K. Chesterton. “ The bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because generally they are the same people."
Quiet meditation. Intuition is developed through use and the practical of constructive silence.

Hello.... what a great word. To me it means an acknowledgment. A recognition of someone's being. On this site and in our blog, we will be saying hello to our intuition, the ability to perceive, see, know or feel things about ourselves, each other and the world around us in ways that are subtle. William Duby, the founder of our school often said that spirituality is practicality. We use our intuition all the time. We pick up on the subtle energies and cues from people we talk with that let us know how best to communicate with someone. We have a tingle that runs up our spine, and suddenly decide to take a different route than our normal commute. Later on we hear that we averted an accident. We have a hunch about a new job, new diet, new relationship and by following that intuitive whisper, we strengthen the psychic muscle by using it. Stay tuned to this space where we will be sharing about all sorts of topics related to intuition and our ability to see things clearly. What about you. Do you have a story to share about your intuition, let us know in the comments section. Rick
